Mission

The long-term mission of Puget Sound Association of the Deaf is to provide educational, historical, leadership, social and
recreational programs that enhance the appreciation, culture, languages and understanding and well-being of diverse Deaf,
DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing citizens of all ages contributing to the society over 120 years.

Vision

PSAD strives to be a regional leader providing a dynamic and innovative programs for diverse Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing people

History

Seattle Deaf Mutes Society was first organized on July 4, 1900 on Mercer Island, then incorporated in 1901. The organization was renamed The Puget Sound Association of the Deaf, Inc. (PSAD) on February 22, 1904.
