What is Sociocracy

Sociocracy is a collaborative governance method that ensures everyone’s voice is included. It helps organizations like ours make decisions more efficiently and inclusively. Adopting this model means more transparency and equal participation, paving the way for innovative solutions and enhanced community engagement.

Our Journey to Sociocracy, a General Timeline

As we transition to a more collaborative PSAD, understanding the key milestones along this journey helps ensure everyone is informed and engaged. Below is a timeline that outlines our major activities and events.

  • Introduction to Board Members: This discussion started in February 2024.

  • Initial Member Introduction: March 23 at our general meeting. We also sent out details via email to ensure everyone was informed.

  • In-Depth Training Event: Scheduled for May 11. This full-day event will be crucial for learning and practicing the principles of sociocracy.

  • Feedback and Ideas Session: A great opportunity to share your thoughts during our general meeting on May 18.

  • Summer Development Sessions: Summer will be our opportunity to continue development sessions and refine our approach based on your feedback.

  • Final Vote: Decide if we are ready to fully implement the new model during the general meeting on September 21.

Each step is designed to gradually integrate sociocracy principles into our organization, providing multiple opportunities for every member to get involved and contribute.
